• It is difficult to draw conclusions about Prohibition's impact on crime at the national level, as there were no uniform national statistics gathered about crime prior to 1930. It has been argued that organized crime received a major boost from Prohibition. For example, one study found that organized crime in Chicago tripled during Prohibition. Mafia groups and other criminal organizations and gangs had mostly limited their activities to prositution, gambling and theft until 1920, when organized "rum-running" or bootlegging emerged in response to Prohibition.

The Prohibition Era was a special time in America that brought many challenges that affected many people in different ways. It was a time that helped shaped the way the U.S. is run today with bars, restaurants, liquor industry, and law enforcement. We created Prohibition to give homage to the roaring 20's & beyond and to provide our members with a classic, upscale, and timeless Private Cigar lounge environment of this era. Downtown Corpus Christi is the heart & soul of the city and we want to evolve with it. We hope our venue serves as both a place to honor our history and a cigar lounge that mixes business & pleasure with good vibes, food, drinks, and music in the heart of Downtown.
